Cheating Cheating is defined a
Cheating
Cheating is defined as manipulating the game code to gain an unfair advantage
over other players. This includes the use of map bugs and exploits. If you are
caught cheating on the server, or if cheats are detected on your computer, you
will be banned on sight without warning. [J4F] reserves the right to scan your
hard drive for installed cheats when you use our server. If you do not agree to
this then you should not attempt to connect to any of our server. [J4F] has a
zero tolerance policy for cheating and once you are banned you normally will not
be unbanned.
Modifications
Using modifications on the server causes severe performance degradation,
sometimes causing it to crash. As a result we have a zero tolerance policy on
all modification usage. Please ensure you have no mods running when you attempt
to connect to the server.
Offensive Player Names
There is no need to use offensive player names other than to be offensive
towards others; offensive names will result in your being banned from our server.
Names that are intended to cause disruption are also disallowed. If you use any
names that we consider to be inappropriate you will be removed from our server.
RACISM
If you are caught making racist comments on our server then we will globally ban
you . We have a zero tolerance policy. Racism is not a joking matter, and we
take it very seriously.
Crashing Servers
Deliberate interference in the running of servers, by using bugs to crash them
or exploits are a very serious offence and we will not hesitate to globally ban
you from our service and server. Attempts to hack into our server could cause
additional legal action to be taken.
Disrupting Play
Any behavior or action that is intended to stop another player or group of
players playing the game will be considered as disrupting play and you will be
banned from the server. Any players that we suspect of intentionally trying to
cause trouble will be permanently banned from the server. If you want to cause
trouble, you can do it elsewhere - we have a zero tolerance policy. Whether your
behavior is intended to be some kind of joke is totally irrelevant, act like
fools and you will be dealt with harshly.
Abusive Behavior and/or Sexual or offensive
language
If you are seen directing offensive language, abusive remarks or any other form
of inappropriate comments to other players or admins you will be kicked and
possibly banned from our server at . This includes inappropriate sexual remarks
or chatter. People do not connect to our server to receive abuse or, they
connect to play and have fun. Deliberately calling other players “n00b” in an
effort to insult their playing abilities is unacceptable and you may be kicked
and possibly banned from the server. You were new once, and if you have nothing
helpful to say, don’t say anything. Likewise new players that are caught being a
nuisance to more experienced players will also be dealt with. If you are asked
to leave someone alone do so, if you flood the screen or voice server with
chatter you will earn Brig time. Banned for a specific number of days. Repeat
the offense and you are worm food in the [J4F] graveyard! Unjustified cheat
accusations also fall into this category, if you suspect someone is cheating,
take a screenshot of the suspect's ship (if applicable). If this is not
practical or possible you will need to call an admin. Do not verbally abuse the
cheater, as this will only force him to turn off his cheats or leave the server,
which means we will not be able to ban him.
Flooding
We will not tolerate flooding on our server, if you have something to say then
say it once only. If you are seen doing any form of flooding you will be kicked
and possibly banned.
Downloading Whilst Playing
Do not connect to our server to play a game whilst you are downloading at a rate
that will interrupt your connection, it is inconsiderate to the players around
you who are unable to hit you properly. Any players showing a high or
fluctuating ping similar to that of someone downloading will be removed from the
server. Players who have network problems which cause a similar effect should
also please consider the other players, although we appreciate that this is not
directly your fault, you still choose to ruin the game for the people around you
if you connect to our servers. Remember if you are running TeamSpeak Client at
the same time as Freelancer to close all other programs or you will cause lag.
Also it is preferred you use the push to talk feature in TeamSpeak rather than
voice activated.
Clan Tags
Unless you are in the actual clan, please refrain from using their tags. This
causes unnecessary hostility and can create a lot of confusion. You risk being
banned from the just4fun-ger.Freelancer Server if you choose to ignore this rule.
This rule also applies to admin and Admin tags, using either on our server will
result in a ban. Clan and Guild Members must use the tag for the Clan or Guild
you are associated with. If you have a player you need a tag changed send a mail
to eric [at] border-free [dot] net. It may take 24 hours to complete.
Bans
When you are banned from our server you may take the matter up with one of the
head Freelancer admins in the forums or by e-mail. If you attempt to evade the
ban and we find you on our server, you will be banned again and possibly banned
additionally by IP address. If you still persist to evade the ban then we may
take the matter up with your ISP.
Admin Decisions
Once an admin takes action against a player on a server, whether it be a warning,
a kick or even a ban, that decision is final and not for the remaining players
to question. Players who abuse admins will simply be removed from the server.
The admins are there to enforce the rules, whether you like the rules or not.
No PvP in Shikoku
Players are not allowed to attack other players in the Shikoku system under any
circumstances. This is to give new players a chance to learn the game in
relative safety. If you are caught attacking other players in this area you will
be kicked and possibly banned from the server.
No Spawn/Dock Killing
You are not allowed to attack players as they dock/undock. Players often have no
chance of escape and can be killed repeatedly, which eventually forces them to
leave the server. It is considered a flaw in the overall design of Freelancer
and anyone engaged in such an activity will be banned on sight.
Important
You are expected to use common sense when engaging other players. Attacking
players that are significantly outnumbered and/or outclassed may result in you
being kicked and possibly banned from the server. The admin will use his or her
best judgment in deciding whether players have been unfairly killed and will
take action accordingly.
Prewarnings
Before you kill a player you have to give him a signal that he get attacked by
you. So that he has a real chance to defend hisself. If you dont give warnings
you could get kicked, banned or other nice things.
Code of Conduct
Player’s role-playing as Pirates, Traders, or Hunters, must follow the Code of
Conduct outlined within your specific Guild or Clan. All Freelancers non-clan
Members simply follow the rules of the server and must only abide by the Server
rules i.e. No PvP in Shikoku System.
